Thomas Barber, who has spent the past six years as a Career Technical Education teacher with Martin County Schools, has been named Child Nutrition Director for the district.
The Martin County Board of Education approved Barber’s new role during their regularly scheduled September meeting.
Barber, a native of Martin County, spent 11 years in the hospitality industry with the Darden Corporation before bringing his skills to the classroom. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and a minor in Business Administration from East Carolina University.
Barber began transitioning to his new role Tuesday by virtually meeting Child Nutrition Managers from each school.
