Mrs. Jones is making multiplication more exciting by integrating writing into her Bridges Math lessons! Her students took ownership of their learning by writing their own multiplication word problems. Mrs. Jones read one aloud, challenging the entire class to solve it together. The energy in the room was electric as students discussed their ideas in small groups, turning and talking about the problem at hand.
To make things even more relatable, the students started connecting their math skills to real-life situations—like their favorite sandwich, the Big Mac! With each Big Mac loaded with eight pickles, they couldn’t resist calculating just how many pickles were on several burgers. Can you guess? Mrs. Jones' students were eager to figure it out!
We couldn’t take them to McDonald’s today, but in Mrs. Jones' class, McDonald's came to E. J. Hayes through math. What a delicious way to learn!
