Your child should have brought home a packet of information last week. You can also check out the newsletter for more information about this opportunity from the PTA! Please remind your children that masks must be worn and worn correctly at all times on school buses. This is for the safety of our students, drivers, and it will help keep students in school during an event of contact tracing due to a Covid-19 exposure. Thank you for your support and efforts to help keep Martin County School's children and staff safe while on our school buses. Please do not send your child to school if they have any symptoms at all. If your child develops any symptoms please have them tested as soon as possible and inform the school immediately. Parents please make sure that your child is wearing a collared shirt to school each day and keep in mind that Hoodies are not permitted in the school building! Our next Community Listening Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 7 at Riverside High School. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Media Center. Everyone is welcome from all parts of the county.

Please do not park your car and walk your child into the building or walk up to the building to collect your child in the afternoon. The car line now moves very quickly. Please also make certain that your student has a mask with them before exiting your car in the morning or going to the bus stop. The tardy bell rings at 7:55am. If you drop your child off after this time, please walk them in the building to the front office. If you have a computer from last year from Williamston Primary or EJ Hayes, please return it to the school as soon as possible, Thank you ! Bus 214 and Bus 210 will not be bringing students to Hayes this week in the morning. Bus 210 will still drive students home if your child only rides it in the afternoons. Parents were contacted on Friday concerning this situation. Please call the school at 252-792-3678 if you have questions or if you were not contacted. Parents please make sure that your child is wearing a collared shirt to school and keep in mind that Hoodies are not permitted in the school building! Greetings Tiger Family, This is your Principal Jason Myers. First of all, today was an amazing day! The kids were eager to learn and very respectful of the teachers and staff. We did have some bus issues today and we want to make sure that we fix them moving forward. Please send a note with your child with a current home address and phone number tomorrow. In the future, always send a detailed note if there are any changes in transportation. I would like to personally apologize if the bus was late today or if your child was not picked up. If your child rides bus 176 in the morning, they will be driven home on bus 210, 214, or 224 for the next few days. Thank you for working with us! The teachers and I hope to see you and all students at our Open House on August 19th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Students and Guardians are welcome to meet the teachers and tour the school. This is Jason Myers, Principal of E.J. Hayes Elementary School. Please join us tomorrow night to meet me and the new Assistant Principal Donnie Wallace. We will be serving ice cream sandwiches and helping to create a student banner to display throughout the year. Since we will be on the outside of the gymnasium, masks are optional.
