An integral part of a Career Development Program is the opportunity of "Job Shadowing". As programs in Martin County Schools continue to offer more, students from the Martin Innovative Early College and Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs not only got a glimpse, but participated LIVE in-studio with Marc & Laura on "The Morning Rush" show that airs on 107.9 FM (WNCT) every weekday morning. Some students had their voices travel across the airwaves of the coastal plain of North Carolina, while others engaged in the processes that go into the production. Students also learned about editing and producing clips, and the overall importance of local radio communications. The show's Marc and Laura, Marconi Award-nominated hosts from Greenville's IBX Communications, were excellent facilitators with the students LIVE on-air. Exiting the studio, students were in for another treat by meeting Mr. John Moore, the voice of eastern North Carolina! The job shadowing tool allows students to explore their curiosity regarding certain professions, and can allow them far in advance to decide a pathway of coursework relative to their skillsets and future career interests. #MartinOffersMore
