The Martin County Schools Career and Technical Education Program continues to thrive. This week’s big events were in the Food and Nutrition arena.

Miley Harrington, Jasmine Roberson, and Ryan Windley - all seniors at Martin County High School - applied for the N.C. Junior Chef competition.  They create a school menu comprised of chicken Parmesan pasta with Salad cups and apple dressing.

Saniya Gilliam, Ashley Seba Torres and Miley Harrington received their ServSafe Manager Certification. This certification is a food safety credential that verifies a person's knowledge and ability to manage food safety practices in a food service establishment. It proves they have the necessary skills to protect the public from foodborne illness by properly handling food storage, preparation, and cleaning procedures.

Aiona Anthony, Neveah Armstead, Jaden Askew, Denasia Boone, Lara Bullock, Kashiya Chesson, and Leannah Green received their ServSafe Food Handler Certification, which ensures their understanding and ability to practice consistent food safety principles.
