These are the weekly announcements for May 8, 2023:

  • Congratulations to Mr. Jody Hollis, our Teacher of the Year.

  • Monday, May 8 we will be on the Homeroom Schedule. 

  • We will be running the new Intervention Schedule beginning Tuesday, May 9.

  • Friday, May 12 is a Remote Day for all Students.

  • Seniors, the 22-23 Student Submissions for Senior Awards Ceremony form has been shared with you. Please use this form to let Student Services know about any academic awards, honors, or scholarships you have received this year. We will use this information to recognize seniors at the Senior Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 18, 2023. All submissions are due by Thursday, May 11, 2023

  • There will be a FREE CTE Accelerator Summer Camp that is offered at the Innovation Campus! It will be from June 20th-23rd and June 27th–30th.  It will have hands-on experiences including activities with Animal Science, Culinary Arts, and Advanced Manufacturing/Game Art Design.  Please email Mrs. Stanton or you can find the information on our social media and website.

  • Anyone interested in running for the 2023-2024 RHS Student Government Executive Board needs to fill out the nomination form that was shared to student email from Mr. Hollis.  This form was shared on Wednesday, May 3.  The final day for nomination forms is Monday, May 8.  The election will be held during the week of May 15.  This election is open to current ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders.  Only current tenth graders may run for Vice-President.  Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and no disciplinary infractions.  Please email or see Mr. Hollis if you have any questions.

  • Senior fees are now $90 & are payable to Mr. Delph each day by 1:30 pm. The last day to pay Senior fees will be May 31st. This fee covers the cost of your cap & gown unit, as well as other graduation expenses.  If you have not picked up your cap & gown please see Mrs. Hoggard in room 183 during 1st period or after school to pick it up ASAP. Do not interrupt her classes to get your cap & gown. Seniors, you must also clear all of your school debts and fees by May 31, 2023 or you will not be able to participate in graduation and your diplomas will be held.

  • Graduation for the Class of 2023 will be on Saturday June 10th at 9:00 am. A ticket will be required for admission. We do not know yet how many tickets every senior will get & we will not know until the week before graduation. A ticket will be required for every person that enters the auditorium, including infants & children. Practice for graduation will be on Friday June 9th at 10:00 am. PRACTICE IS MANDATORY!!!!!! IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND PRACTICE, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CEREMONY ON SATURDAY MORNING!!!!!! Seniors will need to meet in the cafeteria for practice at 10:00 am. 

  • Juniors (rising seniors!) This is a friendly reminder about the NC required meningococcal immunization. Students must show proof of receiving this vaccination prior to entering 12th grade.  So many of you have already turned in your records and that is so appreciated!  Way to go JUNIOR CLASS!  If you have questions regarding this vaccine, please talk with your provider, the local health department, or Nurse Spence at school.
