These are the weekly announcements for February 13, 2023:
- Seniors, there will be a FAFSA night on February 13th from 5:30-8pm in the media center. You must complete your FAFSA before March 1st if you want to be eligible for financial aid to help pay for college. Please bring a parent or legal guardian with you and have their 2021 tax return documents, and social security number. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. James.
- Progress reports go home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
- Any student athlete interested in participating in the February 2nd and 7 reading program please email amcgill@martin.k12.nc.us with any questions.
- Krispy Kreme Fundraiser runs 2/13-2/21. Pick up will be 2/24 at MCSIC. We will have pre order forms for students to pick up from Mrs. Smith for a dozen doughnuts ($13) and a certificate for doughnuts ($14). Proceeds go towards growing the Martin County FFA Chapter.
- The FFA is also taking donations for the animal hospital as a way to give back to the community and to show support for the animal science industry. Donations may include: clean towels/blankets (no holes), dry dog/cat food, wet dog/cat food, and any new toys.
- Seniors, Jostens will be here on February 21st to deliver caps & gowns & announcements during all 3 lunches. Make sure all outstanding balances are paid for items you have ordered. You can go online to pay your balance at jostens.com. You will not be able to pick up your items if you have an outstanding balance. Also make sure your Senior fees are paid. Current Senior fees are $90. If you have not paid your Senior fee, you cannot pick up your cap & gown. It will be held until the Senior fee is paid. Please see Mrs. Hoggard if you have any questions.
- The ACT WorkKeys exam will be February 23, 2023 at the Innovation Campus from 8:00- 1:00 for all 12th grade CTE Concentrators. Please look for the Google Classroom invite for more information and for practice links. Students on the roster should arrive to RHS by 7:50 to catch the bus to the Innovation Campus. Car riders should be at the Innovation Campus no later than 8:15 am.
- Prom will take place on April 28, 2023 at Yankee Hall in Greenville. Tickets went on sale Wednesday February 8. Money should be turned into Mr. Wester.
- This message is for students who will become seniors for 2nd semester or 23-24 seniors. NC requires a booster dose of the Meningococcal vaccine for all individuals upon entering 12th grade. It is strongly encouraged that you do not wait to get this vaccine. Because of high demand, (every 7th and every 12th grader) the state may run out. You may not attend school without this vaccine. Also, many insurance companies do not reimburse for this after you are 18. Please contact Nurse Spence for more information!
- Registration for the next driver education class beginning March 13th-24th from 3:30-6:30 at Riverside High School and South Creek High School will be after school on March 1st and March 2nd from 3:30-4:15. Registration at Riverside will take place in the auditorium lobby. Registration at South Creek will take place in the cafeteria. Students need to register at the school they plan to take the course at. Students must attend school in Martin County to register for this course. Homeschool students are eligible to register for the course as long as they reside in Martin County. Students must be born on or before September 2008 to register for this class. - Senior fees are now $90 & are payable to Mr. Delph each day by 1:30 pm. This fee covers the cost of your cap & gown unit, as well as other graduation expenses.
