Students had a chance to get creative while learning how a fossil is made. Ms. Leggett's 6th grade Social Studies Class created foldable books to demonstrate the steps involved for a dinosaur to become fossilized.

Picture Day is tomorrow, Oct. 3!!!

Just as Dr. White stated, we have started a 5th-grade Career Awareness Program! Sharing information regarding CTE and answering questions regarding job and career opportunities made for a great afternoon at Jamesville Elementary and E.J. Hayes.

2nd & 7 made a stop at Rodgers Elementary School this morning to share another adventure with The Hog Mollies!
Jai'Marqus Jones, the team veteran; Gabby Bennett, Jurnee Matthewson and TyKala Beach teamed up and read to all of the RES second graders.
Before the team returned to their classes, they stopped to say good morning to Bryce and grab a photo!
As always, a big thank you to 2nd & 7 for making this opportunity possible for our athletes and our second graders!

Don't forget Picture Day is Tuesday, Oct.3!!!!

Mrs. Manning treated her 6th grade ELA students with a virtual visit to the Amazon jungle. The class read, Why Monkeys Live in Trees, by Julius Lester and The Case of the Monkeys That Fell from the Trees by Susan Quinlan. This engaging activity brought the settings of the stories to life. Mrs. Rushing loved it as well!

Heather and Jessika from Martin Memorial Library visited Ms. Leggett's class to introduce Libby, their e-book and audio book app. It's a great resource for all of our students but especially our Battle of the Books Team. All students were given library cards as well.

Help us earn money for our school by downloading the Box Tops App and scanning your receipts within 14 days after you shop. Our goal is 1000.00 this school year. From now till October 1st, we will earn double points. Let's start scanning!!

Ms. Manning's 7th grade ELA class visited India today virtually. They saw sights in Jaipur India along with the Taj Mahal. This was a fun extension activity after reading Rikki Tikki Tavi, by Rudyard Kipling, where the main character is a valiant young Indian mongoose.

RHS Senior Brooklyn Bailey shares from her internship; "Being a library assistant has given me a perspective on how much work truly goes into organizing a media center.”
(B. Bailey - Media Science & Technology)

As an MCS Intern in HS Counseling, Janielle James shares, "Another task that I do as an MCS Intern is show new students around RHS. This involves showing them where their classes are, who their teacher is, and where they will be coming in, and going out in the morning and at the end of the day. It is good to see new people coming to RHS and even better being able to show them around as one of the upperclassmen". Thank you Janielle for being an ambassador for RHS and assisting the school administration.

Thank you to all of our partners for the MCS Internship Program! These J.O.B.S. (Journeys of Beginning Success) are placing MCS students on a pathway of academic and career success!

Test Post Apptegy Support

Mr. Woody's 8th grade ELA class got to visit the Auschwitz Concentration Camp virtually this morning. While reading Night, by Elie Wiesel, Mr. Woody wanted the students to be able to see what is depicted in the story. What a great way to enhance a lesson.
