- All students in grades K-5 need to ensure that the iReady diagnostics in both Reading and Math are completed by Thursday, September 3rd. It is very important that you do not help your child with this assessment. We suggest having your child work on the diagnostic for no more than 30 minutes at a time. This diagnostic will not count as a grade, but will help your child's teacher know what specific skill areas they need to focus on during their small group google meets. Again, we ask that you please allow your child to complete this independently to ensure they are not given skills that will be too difficult for them.
- Our STAR testing window is also open for students in first - fifth grades. Again, we ask that you do not help your child with this assessment. It is very important that we have accurate information. Like iready, this will not count as a grade.
- All assignments for this week have been posted in your child's google classroom. Per district requirements, all assignments will post on the Friday afternoon prior to the week's assignments. All of this week's assignments will be due by midnight on September 6th
- This week, we will open our multipurpose room from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday for families that do not have internet access at home or families that need technical support. If you would like to come out on Tuesday between 4 and 7, please call the office no later than 3pm on Monday to schedule an appointment. If you would like to come on Thursday between 4 and 7, please schedule your appointment by 3pm on Wednesday. You must have a scheduled appointment, as we do have limited space available. To enter, you will be asked the screening questions and have your temperature taken. We will adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times. We ask that no more than 3 people per family attend. Please note that this is time to get technical assistance, download materials, upload materials, or work on iReady. We are unable to provide any direct instruction or curriculum assistance at this time.
- Our summer feeding program will continue through August 31st. Any child under the age of 18 may pick-up a meal at RES from 11:00 - 12:30 daily. Beginning Tuesday, September 1st we are only able to provide meals to students enrolled in Martin County Schools. You must provide your child's lunch number to pick up a lunch. Our cafeteria staff does have a list of all student lunch numbers in case your child does not remember their lunch number.
- Please remind your child to adhere to the following guidelines when they are participating in a google meet:
- Students must be fully dressed
-Please mute your microphone when you enter the google meet
- Please try to limit distractions around you
- When you have a question or comment, please raise your hand and wait for your teacher to call on you before un-muting your microphone.
- Progress reports for the 1st marking period will be sent to student email accounts on Thursday, Sept. 3rd at 6:00pm. Please check your child's email for their progress report. We will send home iReady and STAR reports via student email once everyone has completed these tests.
- Please do not hesitate to contact the school or your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns. Our staff does work from school each day. Our office hours are Monday - Friday from 8am to 4pm.
-Lastly, just as a reminder, it is very important that students watch the posted instructional videos, complete their assignments in the correct order, and participate in live google meets with the teacher as much as possible. Unlike the spring, grades are being recorded for assignments and completion of assignments is being used to determine attendance in the virtual classrooms.
