- All of this week's assignments will be due by midnight on Sunday, Oct. 11th. This Wednesday, students will not have any live sessions or new work. This will be a day for them to "catch up" on any work they have not done.
- Martin County school continues to provide no cost breakfast and lunch to any child under the age of 18. You may pick-up lunch and breakfast for the next day between 11am and 12:30 pm.
- Kindergarten parents are reminded that all students entering Kindergarten must have a completed Health Assessment and copy of their immunizations on file at the school. This information must be submitted by Oct. 31st. State law requires that any Kindergarten student that is missing this information after Oct. 31st is not allowed to attend school until this information is provided. In addition, any student in grades 1-5 that is new to a North Carolina school is also required to have this same information on file at school.
- A copy of the MCS Dress Code Policy and the student supply lists are posted on the RES School web page. Please note that the board has not yet approved a policy for masks; however, the draft policy would allow K-5 students to wear masks with patterns. This should be decided at Monday night's board meeting.
- If your child is returning for in-person instruction, your child's teacher should have contacted you to let you know which day they will return. We will have a 2 day staggered start for students in 1st - 5th grades and a 3 day staggered start for Kindergarten students.
- We are working on finalizing bus transportation for families who requested morning, afternoon, or both routes. Please note that due to limited space, if you did not request bus transportation when you decided to return to school we are unable to add you to our bus route. Also, due to limited capacity on buses, we are not able to make any bus changes and cannot add anyone to routes.
- We are working on finalizing plans for morning drop off and afternoon pick-up. Teachers will be sending out information via your child's google classroom on either Thursday or Friday this week. Please be sure to check the announcements in your child's google classroom.
- Please do not hesitate to contact the school or your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns. Our staff does work from school each day. Our office hours are Monday - Friday from 8am to 4pm.
-Lastly, just as a reminder, it is very important that students watch the posted instructional videos, complete their assignments in the correct order, and participate in live google meets with the teacher as much as possible. Unlike the spring, grades are being recorded for assignments and completion of assignments is being used to determine attendance in the virtual classrooms.
We are excited that many of our students will be returning next week! At RES, we are Learning Today...Leading Tomorrow.
