Spencer Pake will join Martin County Schools this summer as the principal of South Creek Middle School.
Pake comes to the district from Beaufort County Schools, where he has served as an administrator at Chocowinity Primary, Bath Elementary, and Eastern Elementary. He has also served at the district office as the Instructional Services Coordinator.
“Spencer Pake brings a strong knowledge of instruction as well as a passion for teaching and learning to South Creek Middle School,” said Dr. Michelle White, Superintendent of Martin County Schools. “The depth of his experience, from the classroom to the district level, will be so valuable as we build the best educational experience possible for our students.”
As Instructional Services Coordinator, Pake worked extensively with district testing and accountability and helped school leaders understand and uphold district accountability policies. In this role, Pake also worked with the analysis and presentation of district data to help benefit growth.
He began his teaching career at John Small Elementary School in Washington in 2003, serving the school as a staff development coordinator and a school improvement team member.
Outside of school, Pake had a long career as a swim coach for local youth swim teams and served as the Washington High School swim coach for
more than a decade, where he led the team to two State Championship titles in 2016 and 2017.
