March Madness was in full swing at SCMS. Students created their own teams for our March PBIS event. We had some great battles and close games but the 8th grade prevailed to be crowned champions!

Tim Manning, VP of Manning Masonry, Inc. and alumnus of Martin County Schools, spoke to CTE, Early College, and interested high school students about opportunities within the masonry and construction business. Manning Masonry, Inc. specializes in turn-key construction while delivering quality projects on time and within budget. The company is sponsoring and will attend the College and Career Fair on March 27th.

SCMS students used their detective skills as they worked together as Secret Agents to reclaim stolen classified documents. Students used collaboration skills, creative thinking skills, math skills, and literacy skills to solve the puzzle.

Students in Ms. Modlin's Media/Tech class were able to interact with the solar system, explore a supernova, and visit many famous landmarks from around the globe. What a great learning opportunity for our students.

Students in all grade levels practiced their math skills of measuring and conversions by reducing the ingredients in a recipe. They then were able to test their skills by making the recipe. Students were able to enjoy their very own homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Students were provided an informative presentation by Chief Larry Johnson of the MCC Fire Academy. MCS currently has students enrolled in the Jr. Firefighter and Exploration programs through Williamston Fire/Rescue. Firefighters and Rescue personnel are in need nationally.
