The 900 Building is buzzing with work and projects from the Family & Consumer Sciences Department. In Foods & Nutrition, students produced the 9 essential amino acids chain while those in Counseling and Mental Health discussed communication best practices while building with partners. Some students even showed up on their day off from school to produce a display for FCCLA. Shout out to our FACS Dept. #Martin OffersMore

The University of North Georgia's (UNG) Corps of Cadets will host National Leadership Challenge (NLC) Weekend on November 1-3, 2024 for JROTC cadets and other high school students who are considering a military program in college. The students will rappel down a sheer rock cliff at the Army's Mountain Ranger Camp in Dahlonega, construct a rope bridge across a mountain stream, negotiate obstacle and leadership reaction course elements, observe demonstrations by UNG cadet organizations, and meet some of their cadets. The students will be assigned to small teams, and current UNG cadets mentor and guide them through the weekend's events. Students have started this semester focused and ready in Health Science Careers class taught by Mrs. R. Revels. As you can see in the pics, these students love the exploration and hands-on opportunities in these Health Science modules. We are not only lighting a fire for health-related careers, but also igniting champions in MCS Career & Tech Ed classes.
