Good evening Knights. This Mr. Mizelle with your weekly reminders. Seniors remember to pay your $90 senior dues to Ms. Hoggard. The rate will increase to $95 this Wednesday November 1. Student parking passes are now on sale for $20. Please see Ms. Manning in the front office to purchase a pass. Students have until November 7 before fines will be issued. Please remind your child to charge their school issued device nightly so it is ready for school the next day. Please remind students of the Martin County Schools dress code. Halloween is this week and students are asked not to wear any masks or face coverings. We also ask you to remind your students that they need a hall pass to be in the hallway at all times other than class changes and lunches. The first quarter of this school year has ended. Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 are teacher workdays and parents have the opportunity to come and have a parent teacher conference with any of our instructors. Nov. 8 is from 11 AM to 7 PM and Nov. 9 is from 8 AM to 4 PM. While scheduling an appointment is not required, it is recommended that you email or call the instructor if you have a tight schedule as some conferences may be lengthy. Please check power school for all updates on your students grades/attendance. A big congratulations to the volleyball and tennis team on a great season this year. Fri. Nov. 3 will be a homeroom schedule day.

The ASVAB military test is on Oct. 24. Anyone interested in joining the military needs to take this test. Please see Ms. Stanton about this. Spring MCC Registration for all Non-Early College students is underway. Students need to see Mr. Smith for more information. Students are reminded to schedule a meeting with their guidance counselor to begin the process of scheduling Spring classes. Students are also encouraged to speak with their homeroom teacher on Friday Oct. 27 during homeroom to discuss the scheduling process. Oct. 24 there will be a meeting in the media center at 6 pm to discuss a travel opportunity to the Dominican Republic for the Spring of 2025. Please see Ms. Joyner for more information. We will host our Red Ribbon week next week. This week is dedicated to making healthy choices by living a drug free lifestyle. Students in Mrs. Revels's Health Science CTE class produced informative brochures regarding skin conditions, disorders, and treatment. The lesson provided great insight into the integumentary system. Students learned about the many intricate functions the system performs.

There will be a College Fair on October 19th from 10:00-11:00 am in the RHS media center. All students must register for this event before October 19th. This event is for 11th and 12th graders. College application week is Oct. 16 thru Oct. 20. Students need to sign up with Ms. James to schedule a time/day for this opportunity. ASVAB military test is on Oct. 24. In conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, Chief Michael Peaks of Williamston Fire & Rescue and Martin Community College Fire Training Program Director, Chief Larry Johnson, visited the Innovation Campus to deliver information regarding work-based learning, skill development, career opportunities, scholarships, and more! Students were able to obtain information about the Williamston Fire/Rescue Junior Firefighter Program for 9th & 10th graders and the High School Fire Academy for 11th and 12th graders. These are great programs that have current, future, and possible lifelong positive impacts. Whether it is gaining education and certifications, getting an associate degree in Public Safety Administration from MCC, serving the community, or pursuing a career in Emergency Management, the Junior Firefighter and the High School Fire Academy can put a student on the path of success.

Please remind all students that blankets are not allowed out in the building and that no bedroom slippers are allowed per the dress code policy. We ask that all students charge their school issued chromebooks nightly so it will be fully charged the next day for school. There will be a College Fair on October 19th from 10:00-11:00 am in the RHS media center. All students must register for this event before October 19th. This event is for 11th and 12th graders. Please see Ms. James for details. If you have not done so, please follow our knight news youtube channel. This is run by our SGA and broadcasting takes place daily. The link can be found on our social media platforms or you can email Ms. Most for more information. A parent band meeting will be held on Oct. 9 at 6 pm on the campus of S. Creek Middle/High School. Please see Ms. Cardwell if you have any questions. Oct. 20 is an Early Release day. We will have our title 1 parent night in the media center at 5:30 pm. Attendance letters were mailed for any student missing over 4 days of any class. This includes excused and unexcused absences. Please talk with your student about this if you received a letter.
