Students in Mrs. Revels's Health Science CTE class produced informative brochures regarding skin conditions, disorders, and treatment. The lesson provided great insight into the integumentary system. Students learned about the many intricate functions the system performs.

Anyone interested in joining the military needs to take this test. Please see Ms. Stanton about this. Spring MCC Registration for all Non-Early College students is underway. Students need to see Mr. Smith for more information. There is an educational abroad trip opportunity forthcoming for RHS students. The trip will take place in the Spring of 2025. Please remind your child that headwear is not allowed in the building. We will begin our ACT prep in classes for our 11th graders. In conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, Chief Michael Peaks of Williamston Fire & Rescue and Martin Community College Fire Training Program Director, Chief Larry Johnson, visited the Innovation Campus to deliver information regarding work-based learning, skill development, career opportunities, scholarships, and more! Students were able to obtain information about the Williamston Fire/Rescue Junior Firefighter Program for 9th & 10th graders and the High School Fire Academy for 11th and 12th graders. These are great programs that have current, future, and possible lifelong positive impacts. Whether it is gaining education and certifications, getting an associate degree in Public Safety Administration from MCC, serving the community, or pursuing a career in Emergency Management, the Junior Firefighter and the High School Fire Academy can put a student on the path of success.

MCS H.O.S.A. (Health Occupations Students of America) visited East Carolina University's School of Nursing & School of Dentistry recently. Students were able to obtain specific information about each program, academic requirements, and career opportunities!

MCS Sr. Da'Niyah Pettaway leads and advises students in her Culinary Internship at SCHS. She serves in Foods II class with Mrs. Hale (CTE Foods & Nutrition) as they prepare pizza and shepherd's pie in the culinary kitchen.

Advanced Manufacturing Day (Oct. 6th) to be celebrated at the Innovation Campus! Guest speakers from SS Cycle, Jenkins Cycles & Repair, Martin Enterprises (HTM), and Country View Family Farms will be on-hand to provide potential career opportunities and market trends in their respective businesses. MCS welcomes our speakers and thank you for bringing your expertise to our students.

Doing what No One Else Does! MCS Sr. Alijah Lassiter participated in a 3-hour work-based learning activity at Pitt Community College recently. Through MIG & TIG welding, along with grinding and smoothing of metal, Alijah was able to put his career interest into practice.

You do not have to wait for high school to take hands-on classes such as Exploring Environment and Natural Resources! Just as Samantha Hoggard's seventh graders at Riverside Middle School. This morning students used a standard water monitoring kit to test water samples from the water fountain, the workroom sink, the Roanoke River, and the Pamlico River. The samples were tested for dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, phosphate, and nitrate. They have been learning about water quality and pollution so this was a hands-on opportunity to analyze local water sources and our drinking water. #dreambig #explorenow

We are proud to say four of our nine principals are graduates of Martin County Schools! The event will start at 9 AM at the IC. We are adjusting our bell schedule starting this week. We will no longer have an intervention block in our schedule. Intervention will take place in the regular classroom as we have added time to each block to assist with this. The start time and end time of the day will not change. Homecoming week is this week and we will have our spirit days. Just as Dr. White stated, we have started a 5th-grade Career Awareness Program! Sharing information regarding CTE and answering questions regarding job and career opportunities made for a great afternoon at Jamesville Elementary and E.J. Hayes.

2nd & 7 made a stop at Rodgers Elementary School this morning to share another adventure with The Hog Mollies! Jai'Marqus Jones, the team veteran; Gabby Bennett, Jurnee Matthewson and TyKala Beach teamed up and read to all of the RES second graders. Before the team returned to their classes, they stopped to say good morning to Bryce and grab a photo! As always, a big thank you to 2nd & 7 for making this opportunity possible for our athletes and our second graders!

As an MCS Intern in HS Counseling, Janielle James shares, "Another task that I do as an MCS Intern is show new students around RHS. This involves showing them where their classes are, who their teacher is, and where they will be coming in, and going out in the morning and at the end of the day. It is good to see new people coming to RHS and even better being able to show them around as one of the upperclassmen". Thank you Janielle for being an ambassador for RHS and assisting the school administration.
